About the Gila, river and wilderness,
from Dreaming the River, an essay by M.H. Salmon.
In Sky Determines , Ross Calvin wrote: “Here if anywhere is air, sky, earth fit to constitute a gracious homeland, not alone for those who occupy themselves at the world’s work, but as well for those who study and create, for those who play, for those who sit still to brood and dream.” Michael Berman and I share a kinship. He, the photographer, has taken on the loftier goal to study and create. I, the fisherman, come mostly to play. But we are both, like so any others, dreaming the river.
